+ Step 1: Complete an Application

An application submitted through mySHS is required for each student applying for admission to Saint Henry School. If you are a new family to SHS, click “create an account” after clicking the link below. If you are a current SHS family, you will use your regular mySHS login credentials.

An application fee of $80 per family is required to complete the student application. If you have multiple children, you will receive a waiver code for this fee after submitting your first application. Current SHS families do not have to submit an application fee for a new sibling and should receive a waiver code from the school office.

+ Step 2: Complete your Checklist

Once your child’s application is submitted, the SHS admissions team will process the application within 1-2 business days. You will then be able to see a checklist of items needed to complete the application when you log in to mySHS. Documents can be uploaded directly into mySHS (PDF preferred). Items requested include:

1. Birth Certificate
2. Baptism Certificate (if Catholic)
3. Most Recent Report Card (grades 1-8 only)
4. Most Recent Standardized Testing Results (grades 1-8 only)
5. IEP, 504, or Behavioral Intervention Plan (if applicable)
6. Teacher Recommendation Form: From your checklist in mySHS, you will be able to enter the email address of your child’s current/most recent teacher or daycare provider. The teacher will then receive an email to complete our recommendation form online. If your child has never attended school/daycare, the admissions team will waive this step for you.

+ Step 3: Complete Admissions Screening

The final step in the admissions process is completing a student screening for admission. Student screenings are held at Saint Henry School. The admissions team will contact you to schedule your screening once all application checklist items are complete.

+ Pre-K Bathroom Policy

At Saint Henry School, we require that all children are independent in toileting by the first day of school.

+ Age Requirements

Pre-K3: Students must be 3 years of age by August 15
Pre-K4: Students must be 4 years of age by August 15
Kindergarten: Students must be 5 years of age by August 15

+ Immunization Policy

All Saint Henry School students must have an official TN immunization certificate on file with the school office. If students have medical or religious exemptions, those must be noted on their official immunization certificate and signed by their doctor. Immunization requirements can be viewed on the Tennessee Department of Health website.

+ Non-Catholic Students

Saint Henry School welcomes families of other faith traditions who are interested in the Catholic school environment. Our faith is the center of our school. Students will learn about the Catholic faith, take religion classes and be a part of our Catholic family through prayer, service, and learning. Families who choose Saint Henry will find a diverse community with both Catholic and non-Catholic families.

+ Disability Accommodations

Although Saint Henry School attempts to meet the academic needs of our students, we are not equipped to serve students with severe disabilities. Parents are asked to supply all pertinent information having impact on the school’s ability to provide for the child’s needs. All admissions are subject to the approval of the principal. Students with academic or other needs which cannot be reasonably accommodated by the school may be denied admission.

+ Policy of Non-Discrimination

Saint Henry School admits students of any race, color, sex, and national origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, or national origin in the administration of educational policies, admission policies, loan programs, athletic, or other school administered programs.

Saint Henry School gives precedence for admission for Catholic students of parishioners, followed by Catholic students of other parishes and non-Catholic students.

This policy does not preclude the ability of the school to undertake and/or enforce appropriate actions with respect to students who advocate on school property or at school functions any practices or doctrines, which are inconsistent with religious tenets of the Catholic faith.

The admissions policy for Saint Henry School adheres to the laws of the State of Tennessee and the policies contained in Diocese of Nashville Catholic Schools Policies and Rules, which determine the age for admittance as well as health and academic records required for admittance.
