School Counselor

Saint Henry School has a part-time school counselor who is available to provide individual counseling, group counseling, classroom lessons, and referrals. The counselor works closely with teachers and administrators to assist with student needs.

School Nurse

The Saint Henry School clinic is staffed with a full-time registered pediatric nurse practitioner. Functions of the school nurse:

  • Assist students with known medical needs to function maximally in the school setting

  • Assess students as needed for illness and injury during the school day, then implement care as needed

  • Provide educational programs for students, parents, faculty and staff

  • Coordinate vision and hearing screening annually

Student Support Services

Saint Henry School believes that every student has potential and the gifts that God has given them. The Resource Department helps support the educational program of students who are experiencing difficulty in the regular classroom due to identified learning problems.

The Saint Henry School Support Services is a group consisting of teachers, the school counselor, the learning consultant, and an administrator.

The support team facilitates:

  • Meeting developmental and relational needs of students.

  • Helping students adjust to the demands of school.

  • Accessing needed support services (for child, family, and school).

The support team writes an Academic Support Plan (ASP) for students diagnosed with learning disabilities. Resource teachers support classroom teachers in implementation of the ASP, and provide specialized services as dictated by the ASP.

Saint Henry School believes the link between parents and classroom teachers is a partnership with open lines of communication. Parents are viewed as the primary educators of each student and provide valuable insights into the child that help the faculty and staff support students experiencing difficulties.
